Certification titles and requirements vary from organization to organization, region to region, province to province and state to state, but all of them require that candidates also be certified to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pass an exam on health, safety, nutrition, and fitness. Certification is voluntary, but employers generally require proof of professional certification.
